THE TEMPLE OF MERCY AND LOVE

The Temple of Mercy and Love in Płock was consecrated in 1914. It is the only cathedral of the Old Catholic Mariavite Church. It was built in the neogothic style. It incorporates not only the actual bulding of the temple but also the convent, charring buildings as well as a beautiful garden expanding down to the Vistula River slope. The place of rest for the Foundress of mariavitism can be found in the vaults of the Temple and the room in which she lived is located in the monastery. The cathedral is also the seat of the Prime Bishop of the Church.
Since it was founded, the Temple has been the centre of the mariavitism. Every year on August 15th, it gathers worshippers from all over the country to celebrate the Assumption of the Holy Virgin Mary. They can also admire the beauty of the building with its numerous decorations and ornaments. According to the revelations of the Little Mother, all prayers offered in the Temple will be granted as long as they are in line with God’s will.
A sunny, summertime day draws out the charm of the Temple's architecture. One can observe the fascinating embellishments, nooks and corners that encourage getting lost in thoughts upon the majestic and still delicate forms. The interiors of the cathedral emanate brightness that is stressed with the white altar and golden stucco works. You are most welcome to admire it by yourself:
